Getting the tools

Setting up a new SilverStringer site

Phase one:

• Develop mission statement and goals
• Gather a minimum of 4-6 participants but preferably 10-12
• Have access to technical and journalistic expertise if the members don't already come with it
• Find a place to meet regularly either in person or online
• Come to an agreement on the type of content to be published
• Decide on a schedule for frequency of publication

Phase two:

• Develop an operations structure (who will be editors, writers, photographers, etc.)
• Agree on deadlines for story submission to editors
• Create a stockpile of at least ten stories
• Publish

Journalism tutorials

Hardware Requirements

• Window NT, 2000 or XP
• At least 100 MB of free space in the hard disc (for installation purposes)
• IP address or assigned URL
