Setting up a new Silver Stringer site
Phase one:
- Develop mission statement and goals
- Gather a minimum of 4-6 participants but preferably 10-12
- Have access to technical
and journalistic expertise if the members don't already come with it
- Find a place to meet regularly either in person or online
- Come to an agreement on the type of content to be published
- Decide on a schedule for frequency of publication
Phase two:
- Develop an operations structure (who will be editors, writers, photographers,
etc.)
- Agree on deadlines for story submission to editors
- Create a stockpile of at least ten stories
- Publish
Tutorials may be reprinted on non-profit web sites with
an attached line saying: “Reprinted with permission. Copyright, MIT
Media Laboratory”
